Freshwater Barbs
The Cyprinidae fish family, or commonly called the barbs are quite possibly the largest group of fishes in the wild. Barbs have varied requirements for water which can change from species to species. Some can do well in sub-tropical temperatures and most other prefer warmer tropical temperatures. The Barbs that grow the largest are the Tinfoil and Bala Shark. Other Barbs, like the Harlequin Rasbora and the Zebra Danio are on the small side. The Tiger Barb and Red Tail Shark are some of the Barb species that you should be careful when introducing them to a community aquarium.
